The mill pulverizes material between pendulum roll assemblies and a fixed die ring. Pulverized material from the grinding zone is carried by the air stream to a separator mounted directly above the mill. From there, product size material is carried to a collection system while oversize particles are rejected and recycled for further grinding. Performance of the system is continuously monitored using automatic controls to maintain optimum grinding and drying conditions.

Bradley Hercules Mills pulverize material between pendulum roll assemblies and a fixed die ring. Hercules Mills are unique among ring-roll designs in being over driven through an integral gearbox. This permits a simple, solid foundation and results not only in low capital cost, but in better power-to-weight ratio. Vibration is minimised, operation is quiet and maintenance requirements are kept low.

System Operation

bradley-pulverizers-phosphate-production-1The Bradley Hercules Airswept Mill system grinds, classifies and dries material simultaneously. Pulverized material from the grinding zone is carried by the air stream to a separator, mounted directly above the mill. Product-size material is carried to the collection cyclone while oversize particles are rejected and recycled for further grinding. The conveying air stream can be heated to flash dry the material being ground.

Most of the conveying air stream is recycled, with only a minimum amount being exhausted through the dust collector system, which is designed to remove the excess amount of air and water vapour and maintain the system under negative pressure to ensure dust-free operation. System performance is continuously monitored to obtain optimum grinding and drying conditions.

The standard size of Bradley Hercules Airswept Mills cover the range of 1 to 150 tonnes per hour. Product fineness requirements can vary from 50% passing 150 micron to 100% passing 30 microns. Feeds containing up to 15% moisture can be dried-in-circuit to yield products with less than 0.1% moisture. The complete systems are engineered to guarantee many years of reliable operation.
